PDV Salt

Brief Overview

Pure dried vacuum salt, also known as PDV Salt, has a formula of NaCl. It exists as white crystals and is an ionic salt. PDV salt is characterized for its salinity and can be found as a major component in edible salt. It is often added to food as a condiment and serves as a food preservative. In a solid sodium chloride crystal lattice, the sodium cations and chloride anions are arranged in a face-centered cubic structure, with each ion surrounded by 6 other oppositely charged ions

Cleaning Agent

PDV salt is used to frost and ice of sports pitches and prevent it from reforming. This salt are near to human consumption standard hence used to clear sport pitches. These products are extremely low contaminant so it will act more readily and quickly on any frost build up. It is also used in deicing for roads and as an anti-icing agent

Other Applications

PDV is used as an important ingredient in the food industry, where it is used for flavour enhancement and food preservation. It is used for water treatment, as brine in textile processing, in shampoos. It is even used in manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, solar ponds, neoprene and white rubber types. In addition, it is used in oil drilling in gas and oil exploration and as a major source of sodium cations and chloride anions in feedstock for chemical synthesis.
